I have had these sitting around for quite a while, and life has finally slowed down enough for me to post them.
Anyways, I have made 2 QPs for you using Rachael Hudnall's Wine and Roses page kit, which I would like to add is absolutely gorgeous.

Out of the mouth of Jade

I just have 2 quick stories about Jade. She has been cracking me up today.
1)
She noticed the little Christmas tree was gone, and asked where it went. I told her Nana took it. She asked if Nana couldn't go cut down a big tree. I told her that Nana likes to have a little tree. She replied, "Is that so the presents look bigger?".
2)
I was driving her to her friends house. "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" came on the radio. She made me turn it up so she could sing along. All of the sudden she stops singing and proudly exclaims, "I should be on the radio!!"
That's all.
THE END

Now that's thinking

I was reading Caibo a story. All of the sudden he made me stop. He took the book and sat it on the floor. Then he began trying to jump into the book (somebody watches too many cartoons). First he just tried jumping in. When that didn't work he said, "Darn it!!" and tried to Skidoo into the book. He also tried jumping higher, jumping backwards, and spinning around before he jumped in. Finally, he said "I know! I need a pogo stick". We don't have a pogo stick, but I have to give the kid credit. That's thinkin.

New Products

I finally have a new product for my store. You know the one I mentioned like 2 weeks ago. Yes, life has been crazy busy.

And because I like you here is some free word art...

My internet dependancy

Friday night there was an internet outage in my area, and for whatever reason I ended up with no internet until today. Now, 5 days isn't really that horrible. I mean people can go for weeks without the internet after a natural disaster. For me, 5 days was just enough to learn how dependant I am on the internet. I wasn't able to put any new products in my store. I didn't know what anyone was doing. I had no idea how much money I had in the bank. The worst of all was my house payment. I always pay it online. This time I had to make a phone call. I had to wait for the stupid automated system which told me it would cost me $15 dollars to make the payment over the phone. I waded my way through all the menus just to get directed to a customer service representative (because I have never paid over the phone). The first thing the customer service rep told me is that it would cost $20 to make a payment over the phone. Normally, I am a very nice person, but I had had enough, and I was not very nice to the poor dude. It worked. He only made me pay $15 to make my payment over the phone. Although I was not completely thrilled. I'll accept $15. It is much better than a late mortgage.

The anti Santa

Ok, I totally feel like I have let down all my readers who read this just to see what me and the kids are up. (I like to pretend that are like 5 or 6 of you.) I know I have been slacking, but life has been crazy.
Anyways, here are a few pictures of the ward Christmas party. Mostly I had pictures of Caibo because Jade wanted to sit with her friends instead of us. I guess we are not cool anymore, but I don't feel too bad. She wasn't the only one. Poor Albrights had pretty much all the 5 and 6 year olds sitting with them.

It turns out that Caibo isn't the biggest fan a Santa. He has better things to do like eat. I know. I'm shocked, too. Usually we can't get the kid to stop and eat. The only way we convinced him to get close to Santa was because he wanted the candy cane. The candy cane thing doesn't surprise me too much.

When we finally got him near Santa this was as close as he would get. He wouldn't sit on his lap. Yes, I'm shocked about this too. After all, Caibo has been known to poke random strangers and say "Excuse me sir. My names is Caibo"
This is way off subject, but the other day we were driving somewhere and out of the blue Caibo asked me what my name was. I told him and then asked him what his name is. He responded, "My names is Caibo, but my dad calls me dude and I say sweet totally."
Anyways, back on subject. They gathered all the primary kids on the stage to sing Silent night and Away in a manger. I used to whine about how small our primary is, but looking at this picture I take it back.
Most of the kids didn't sing. The kids in my primary class claim that they were distracted by Caibo being weird. You can't see it in this picture, but he was crawling around pretending to be a cow or horse or something like that. Yep, that's my Caibo.

Just because it made me laugh

Poor Caibo is the only person at our house that gets up in the morning anymore. Usually he gets up turns on his own movie, hangs out for a while, brings me a gallon of milk or juice and his bucca, and eventually gets bored and tells me "Mom! Get up! It's morning outside!" I guess I didn't respond correctly this morning because he gave up and went to wake Jade up. Their conversation went like this:
"Jade, get up! It's morning outside."
Jade pretty much growled at him.
"Jade! Get up!!"
"I don't want to get up"
"Jade! It's morning outside"
"but I'm tired I don't want to get up"
"BUT IT'S MORNING OUTSIDE"
"I DON'T WANT TO GET UP!!!!"
At that point he gave up, and I am very glad I didn't want to get up either.

Scrapbooking in the dark.

Yesterday we went and bought a new monitor, because it had to be done (I had a little tiny monitor and it kept turning itself off) and with the black Friday sales we got a great deal. It turns out the size and turning itself off thing weren't it's only problems. It was also really dark. So now, I can see everything as it really is. I have all ready learned that Rachael doesn't design as many black pages as I thought (She has probably been wondering why I pick such odd paper combinations sometimes), everything I have thought was red was really pink, that color swatch in the contest that I thought was mostly purple wasn't, and I do not know what else I'll discover. Now I just have to figure out how to find out if this monitor is too bright.

The language of Caibo

Caibo is finally at that stage where he is talking well enough that the most interesting things come out of his mouth. This is mostly for me, so I can look back and tell him about it someday. He does say some funny stuff though. I just hope I can remember it all now.
His two favorite things are his "Bucca" (sippy cup) and his "flanky" (blanket). I don't know why he calls the cup a bucca, but I have been corrected by him for calling it a sippy cup.
Any time he burps he says "I must be hungy." He even started asking people if the are "Hungy" after they burp.
He is not a fan of the "vac-eee-yume" he thinks it is going to get him.
He is a big backseat driver. He has told me "Stop it's red" "It's green you can go" "Go that way" I'm sure there is more.
He believes all things green belong to him, mostly green lights. If he is not telling me I can go he proclaims "It's my green!!"
We asked he where his underwear were one day. He replied, "I flushed it."
He came out of the bathroom one day and reported, "I flushed it the soap"
It doesn't matter if we are standing by a man or woman. He will say, "Excuse me sir. My names is Caibo"
When someone is hurt or sad he will ask them "You Ok allright?"
I'm pretty sure there is more. I knew I wouldn't be able to remember it all now. I'll just have to add them as I remember.

A Christmas layout or two

I admit it. I am one of those people that whine and groan when all the Christmas stuff comes out the day after Halloween, so when Rachael did a Christmas kit I was less than thrilled. However working with all the Christmas stuff got me remembering our past Christmases which helped me feel the Christmas spirit. I am excited about the Christmas stuff now, but I am still restraining myself from decorating the house at least for another week.

All layouts use Rachael's Christmas Remembered kit
you can get it here

My family tree (finally)

A long time ago I was inspired to make a family tree starting with my children and going back as far as I could. I figured it would be cool for them to see where they come from. I started working on it, and was amazed at what I found. It is one thing to do a family tree with names and something totally different to use pictures. It was fun to look at the pictures and see the resemblances between my children and my great grand parents, or my grandparents and my siblings. I had forgotten about the project until one day I got a call from my husband's aunt. She said she had read the e-mail I had sent out and was inspired to put something together. She sent me a package of pictures and Wow! I was so excited. Anyways, here is the beginning of what is turning out to be a pretty big and exciting project.

Yes, I am a slacker.

Ok, So I have been totally slacking about my blog. In my defense, I have a cold, but that is not much of an excuse. To make up for my slacking (and because I committed to do it) I have 3 QPs for you. For these QPs I used the Kit Holiday Traditions from DAC. This kit is a free gift with a purchase of $10. You can get the kit HERE.

The story of a week

Well, it's been a week. I should probably tell you what's new.
I guess we haven't had enough dog drama lately. This last week alone we had Snoopy impounded and Miley got hit by a car. They learned that if they jumped enough they could get out of the back yard. Both dogs once again are safe at home and Ok. By some miracle Miley only has cuts on her leg.
Aside from the dog drama, I haven't been up to much except for the quest to train the anti potty. I think we are finally getting somewhere. He only had 3 accidents today. At the rate we're going he'll be potty trained by middle school for sure. I hope it doesn't take that long.
Ummm yeah. I think that's all. I'm sure there is something I should be doing. Oh yeah!! I almost forgot. Every year since Jade was born, I have driven past the big pile of pumpkins on bluff street and thought that I should go take pictures because it would just be so cute. Usually the day I finally decide I'm going to do it; it rains. This year I actually did it. Nana got the kids cute Halloween clothes, so we went and took pictures today. Yay for me! and Yay for Nana!!!

My poor cats

Rachael made a really cute kitty kit this week. I gathered all my cat photos, and all I can say is, "how do my cats survive my children?" I found pictures of cats wearing bandaids, cats with popsicles, cats being tickled, and cats being carried like suit cases. My poor kitties!!

I stand accused...

My husband was watching me scrapbook the other day. He asked me, "Why don't you ever scrapbook Caibo?" I was really upset. How dare he accuse me of favoring one child over the other when I scrapbook. In an attempt to defend myself, I looked to see how many layouts I have of each kid. Here is what I found:
I have done 210 Jade layouts, 40 layouts of Jason and Becky's wedding (I needed 30 I lost 10 in an unfortunate event involving a loss of brain power), 3 layouts of the dogs, and 13 Caibo layouts. I guess at least I have more layouts of Caibo than the dogs.
So, Jerry was totally right, and in an attempt to make it better. Here are 3 new Caibo layouts, which brings the grand total up to 16.

Is it even possible?

I went back to the DMV today, because we also needed to register my husband's truck. I had such a great experience last time, I was prepared for the worst. After all, what are the chances of 2 good DMV experiences in a row? I guess pretty good. Today, we went in got the number, and had our number called before we could even sit down. I was in, out, and on my way in 5 minutes. I actually checked the time because I was in such shock.
Well, that's all I have to say. I have a Super Why costume to make.

It's a DMV miracle!!

I just have to share this because I am so amazed. I went to register my van today (which I was actually supposed to do in July. Yes, I am the queen of procrastination). I decided that it needed to be done before I got pulled over and had it impounded. I'm just thinking the idea of that just does not sound fun at all. Anyways, I drove clear out to the DMV. (Why did they move it to Hurricane anyway?) I walked in got my number, waited like five minutes, spent another like 5 minutes registering the van, and then left. If that is not a miracle, I do not know what is.
One more thing that has nothing to do with the DMV. I decided on a whim to clean my bath tub today. My reward was, "Mom, Caibo is cleaning the toilet with my shampoo!" I guess at least he was trying to help.

The last week of Design It! (and a freebie)

This was the last week of the Design It! Contest at DAC. It's been quite a process for me. I've learned a lot, and I would like to think that I am better at designing now.
This week our challenge was to create something that could be placed in the store. We were allowed to do whatever we wanted as far as theme, color, and what was included in the kit.
Since I think I have gotten better at designing, I took a second try at a theme I was working with before the contest.
This is a love kit based on the colors of my borther-in-law's wedding. Everything is brand-new, and much much better than what I made the first time.
If you want the kit it is available over at DAC in the secret forum (you need to be registered and have 5 posts to see it). Also, please vote for me.

Here are some layouts I made with pictures from the wedding. At the rate I am going I might actually finish their wedding album in time for Christmas. Yay!

And because I like you, I took a couple of the better things from the old kit and a couple of things that wouldn't fit into the new kit and made a little freebie add-on.

Look! I actually had time to scrap. Yay!

Finally, I had some time to make some layouts. I'm so excited the kit came together so well last week. FYI I linked all the layouts to the products, so if you like what you see go get it.
