Look! I actually had time to scrap. Yay!

Finally, I had some time to make some layouts. I'm so excited the kit came together so well last week. FYI I linked all the layouts to the products, so if you like what you see go get it.

Now, I'm off to create my final kit for the Design it! contest. OK, not really. I'm going to bed.

Here is my week 4 entry for Design it!
As always it can be found in the DAC secret forum (you have to register and submit 5 posts to see it). Have fun with it, and don't forget to Vote Here

P.S. In case you were wondering, the cat got the Modge Podge off.

Modge Podge

My friend Allison introduced me to modge podge (it has been quite a while ago). Ever since I have been addicted. You can pretty much modge podge anything to anything else. It's great! Well, usually it is great.
Last night I was finishing up my kit for the week. It was one of those times when the kids got really quiet and I should have gone to find out what they were doing. Caibo came in and said "I wash my hands" They were white. I couldn't figure out what it was, so I went to inspect. There was a puddle of modge podge all over the kitchen table, a chair, and the floor. As if that wasn't enough, it was the sparkly bottle. Now, my kitchen floor has a 6 inch diameter circle of sparkle on the floor.
I thought I had it all cleaned up until I went to bed. That was when I discovered that they modge podged the cat. Poor digger!

We found 2 dogs.

They found Miley Saturday. We have 2 dogs again. Yay! They are skinny and walk funny, but otherwise fine. We are still kind of in shock that we actually found them, but am very excited.

A new gig.

Finally, I can share my secret. (I bet you didn't know I had a secret.) Quite a while ago I applied for a CT gig with Franziska Altmann, and I have a guest spot on her CT for the month of September (another reason it has been a crazy week). For my first kit I chose Cutie Pie, and have had lots of fun playing with it.

If you want Cutie Pie you can get it HERE

Bittersweet news

Some of you do not know, but last weekend while we were working on the cabin our dogs wandered off again. This time they did not come back. That's part of why my week has been so crazy. Our cabin is a 2 hr drive away. Needless to say, we were not able to do much on our own. We have spent quite a bit of time working with the Best Friends Animal Shelter and the Kane County Animal Shelter to try to find them. Both agencies have been absolutely AMAZING to work with. The actually made up flyers and posted them all over the area and on the internet. I appreciate what they have done for us SO MUCH!
Anyway, the news. Jerry was able to go up to the cabin tonight, and he found Snoopy, but Miley was not with her. I'm really having mixed emotions about this. I am so excited that snoopy is Ok, but the reality is sinking in that Miley probably did not make it. It really was bittersweet news.

Little Star (week 3 design it!)

Well here it is. This week I am calling my kit "Little Star". I'm sure some of you figured it would happen sooner or later (me making a star kit that is). I kind of have a star obsession.

As usual, you can find the kit HERE
and don't forget to VOTE

Antique Dolls

Once again, Rachael has made a gorgeous kit. I loved it immediately. I had wanted to do layouts with some family history pictures, but something was wrong with the DVD I burned them onto GRRR! These turned out good though. Yay!

I was supposed to post these a few days ago, but it has been one Crazy week. Really, it seems like yesterday was Monday. Hopefully, next week slows down a little.

What was I thinking??

It was totally driving me crazy that Caibo refuses to dress himself, so we have been pressing the issue. Sometimes, it turns into quite a battle. Finally, I have won this battle. Caibo dresses himself. Hooray!!! Except what was I thinking? Now the kid changes whenever he gets the whim (like 5 times a day). Also he gets himself into clothing traumas. Somehow he managed to put his shirt on upside down. I was going to take a picture, but he fixed it before I could find the camera.
Well, he mostly fixed it.

The anti-potty

It is time. Ok actually it is probably long over due. I am trying to potty train Caibo. We have been trying here and there for quite a while, but we have finally decided to just do it. At this point Caibo's new title is the anti-potty. We will take him in, after we ask him to go and he adimently declares, "I do not go potty." We spend the next 15 minutes arguing with him about how he doesn't go potty. We can usually get him to go enough to get the "good job", but he will never finish. 5 minutes after he leaves the bathroom he will go. It's so frustrating!! Anyways, if any of you have any pointers on training the impossible child please share. I need all the help I can get.

A quick thought

For me the stepping stool is a way to reach stuff I need that I couldn't reach before. For my son the stepping stool is a way to reach trouble he couldn't get into before. I think I need to hide the step stool.

The language barrier

Jade has been coming home from kindergarten speaking more and more Spanish every day. I was kind of curious about it until today. It was my first day as mommy helper. Mrs. Watson asked me to have each of the kids lay down on a piece of paper, so I could trace them (what a fun project!). I was doing pretty good with the first kid except she was taller than the paper. The next kid was more of a challenge. He just kept looking at me like I had lost my mind. Fortunately, one of the little girls in the class informed me that he doesn't speak any English. We had to go find another little boy who speaks both Spanish and English to translate for me. By the time I was done tracing all the kids I had found 2 who did not speak any English. Well, that explains a lot doesn't it.
As if that wasn't enough, I was at the laundromat tonight (as my handyman husband so professionally puts it, our dryer "took a dump" :( There was this little boy who was fascinated with taking his drink (a cup from a convenience store) and putting it in and out of my laundry basket. I saw what was coming, but he wasn't screaming, so I just let it happen. He spilled his drink all over my basket. His mother had to go asked her husband how to ask me if it was my basket. She felt really bad. I was trying to tell her that it was ok (my children have done far worse) Unfortunately, my Spanish is bad enough I don't even use it.
Anyways, today has been an adventure in not speaking Spanish. Maybe I should have listened better in college.
P.S. The laundromat on bluff street has mice. I'm not sure I'll be using that one again.

Design it!

I've kind of been keeping it a secret, but I am in a design contest over at DAC. This is actually the first kit I have ever made. I think it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. I call it Western Skies. We were supposed to do a kit with a heritage theme. I was excited because I have actually been pondering a western kit for quite a while now.
If you like this kit you can get it over at DAC in the secret forum (you have to register and do 5 posts to be able to see the link, but that's not too hard to do.) Also, please go vote for me.

Dog Tired

Ok, I'm finally posting something about my less than exciting life like I said I would.
Jerry's family owns a cabin up on Cedar Mountain. Labor day and Memorial day are always work weekends. Usually for work weekends we take our dogs with us. This was actually Miley's (btw we got another dog) first trip to the Ranch.
The dogs love the ranch. They chase various assorted rodents all day long. They play in the little creek. They follow the kids around. They LOVE it, and it wears them out.
Saturday at lunch one of Jerry's uncles said that he had seen the dogs up on the ridge with something in a tree. Whatever it was jumped out of the tree, and they followed it over the ridge.
They didn't come back Saturday night. We were pretty worried. We woke up Sunday morning, and they were still not back. To make matters worse, it was now raining. My dogs hate the water.
We decided to get ready and go to church. We would look for them when we got home. After church, we drove clear down the canyon talking to anyone we saw. No one had seen the dogs. We were pretty sad, and didn't know what to do.
Fortunately, when we pulled up at the lodge the dogs were sitting on the lawn waiting for us. They were so cold, wet, and tired that they could hardly move. They would hardly move for the rest of the day, but we were sure glad to have them back.

My Wish

Rachael has been in a very giving mood lately. Probably because of the big birthday bash at DAC. She is giving away the beautiful and glittery (which is probably why I like it so much) "My Wish" kit over at her blog.
This is what I made with it, but I have made it into a QP and Rachael is allowing me to give it away. Yay!!
Download Here
And don't forget to visit Rachael's blog to get the kit.

P.S. For those of you who read this to learn about the (less than) exciting exploits of my life, I'll get something up tomorrow.
